How do we find purpose through the power of Pearl?
By accepting her invitation to trust in something bigger, tap into our higher calling, and lead us into the light.

Our foundation is in the process of navigating how best to uphold the legacy of our beloved Pearl. While our path forward may not be fully defined, our commitment remains unwavering. We are dedicated to sowing seeds of kindness, spreading hope, nurturing love, and fostering joy in all our endeavors.
Our Mission

No grit, no pearl.
“
She isn’t just beautiful because of her appearance. No, she is beautiful because of the way she chooses to live and love. In the way she embraces all of life’s experiences, good or bad. In her willingness to bend but never break, and in her courage to believe that the darkness can’t hold her as long as she continues to create her own light.
She is just like a pearl, made from grit but full of grace. She is unstoppable, she knows it’s not what happens, but how she chooses to respond, with perseverance in her mind and passion in her heart.”

Pearl’s Health Journey
Our sweet girl was 8 years old when she couldn’t quite recover from a couple months of constant sickness. A series of events led us to take her to the local emergency room on October 24, 2022 where within an hour, we had the diagnosis of Leukemia. From there, we had to be transported to Cohen’s Children's Hospital to the most unbelievable team of doctors, nurses, techs, and personnel. It was there she was further diagnosed with B-All Leukemia. They became like a second family to us as Pearl spent almost the entirety of the first 30 days of diagnosis battling an intestinal infection as she began chemotherapy.
She did reach “remission” and continued on her chemotherapy schedule. Her 8 month battle was not without many bumps along the way as her little body’s immune system was ravaged but we also had good days. On June 28, 2023, she woke up unresponsive but breathing. We rushed her to the local ER where she went into cardiac arrest. She was then transferred to Cohen Children’s to be put on Life Support. Sadly, she had contracted an infection in her stomach which caused sepsis and her organs and brain could not recover. She passed away at 9:23am on June 29, 2023. We were in shock, devastated and in disbelief. I think most days, these emotions are still prevalent but there is also a peace knowing she no longer has to fight. In her death, she has continued to reach so many in her magical power of signs and purpose.

“Mama said fulfill the prophecy. Be something greater. Go make a legacy. Manifest destiny.
Had to have high, high hopes for a living. Didn't know how but I always had a feeling. I was gonna be that one in a million. Always had high, high hopes.

BREAKING (play) GROUND
To kick off the Pearl Heinlein Foundation, we are building a playground at her school, St. Patricks of Bay Shore, in her memory. The playground will be constructed this summer before the kids come back in the fall of 2024. We thank all in advance who support this endeavor and hope the children for all the years to come will find joy and FUN here. Pearl would have loved this!
